The ITA pre-junior Tiger Cubs program is designed for children who are three, four, five, and six years old, intended to be introductory and preparatory for regular TaeKwonDo classes.  Many children in this age group are not yet capable of developing the physical abilities, social skills, and emotional maturity to be successful in a regular junior TaeKwonDo class but desire to be involved in ITA-licensed member schools; therefore, the ITA Tiger Cubs program has been developed.  Potential students who are three, four, or five years old should automatically be Cubs and should attend ITA Tiger Cub classes if the program is offered in the member school.  Some six-year-olds may also benefit from starting in the ITA Tiger Cubs program before making the transition to junior classes.

The main emphasis of instruction in the ITA Tiger Cubs Program is to provide the environment, instruction, structure, and activities to enhance the child’s...

  • ¨           physical maturation and coordination
  • ¨           mental readiness
  • ¨           attention span
  • ¨           social skills
  • ¨           safety awareness
  • ¨           self-awareness
  • ¨           self-concept
  • ¨           self-discipline

...to the point that they meet the requirements for testing into the regular junior program.
